The Swan and the Spectre is a reconstruction of Cindarella's castle in Disneyland which burnt down in 1965 using the photograph A Castle in Disneyland, Cal. 1962 by Dianne Arbus.
The Swan and the Spectre, was created as an off-site project for the Istanbul Biennial. It is a re-creation of Cinderella’s Castle made from polystyrene covered in volcanic sand. This version was made using Dianne Arbus’ photograph, A Castle in Disneyland, Cal. 62. Only the details in the picture were included, and no other research material was used.
